Dot Registrar migrates to MyDomain.com

DotRegistrar (www.dotregistrar.com), one of the leading domain registration service providers, is in the process of upgrading all its client accounts and domains to the MyDomain.com Registrar system. As per a notice on www.dotregistrar.com, DotRegistrar will become part of MyDomain, in the coming weeks. With this upgradation some of the features of Dot Registrar have gone while some new features (free services) like URL Forwarding, Email Forwarding and DNS management has been added. However, this comes at a cost to existing clients of Dot Registrar.

While at Dot Registrar there was a concept of Domain Registration Unit (DRY) to register / renew / transfer domains, MyDomain.com provides slab based pricing. Thus the cost of Domain Registration / Renewal / Transfer for some low usage clients has gone up. Another useful feature (domain key), using which user could manage some aspects of his domains without being logged in to Dot Registrar system, has been done away. However, domain management interface at www.mydomain.com is more intutive and informative.

As part of this upgrade, new account signups on the DotRegistrar system has been closed and new clients are being directed to sign up at www.MyDomain.com.
