cPanel announces EOL for versions 10.8.x and below

cPanel announced EOL (End of Life) for version 10.8.x and below. As per a communication released on 8th November, 2007, cPanel will no longer issue licenses for version 10.8.x or below after December 1, 2007. Few months back cPanel had release version 11 of it’s popular Hosting control panel and has now urged all it’s users to upgrade to latest version.

To upgrade to a newer version of cPanel and WHM, administrators can run /scripts/upcp from the command line or use the ‘Upgrade to Latest Version’ option in the ‘cPanel’ menu inside of WebHost Manager.

Dot Registrar migrates to MyDomain.com

DotRegistrar (www.dotregistrar.com), one of the leading domain registration service providers, is in the process of upgrading all its client accounts and domains to the MyDomain.com Registrar system. As per a notice on www.dotregistrar.com, DotRegistrar will become part of MyDomain, in the coming weeks. With this upgradation some of the features of Dot Registrar have gone while some new features (free services) like URL Forwarding, Email Forwarding and DNS management has been added. Pricing dips for all New .IN Domain Names

Recently many registrars announced a dip in pricing for all second and third level .IN domain names. As the .IN promotion goes on, pricing for any new .IN domain name for an End User has come down to Rs. 200/= (plus / minus Rs. 50 depending on the Registrar). The PHP development team, on 13-July-2007, has announced End of Life for PHP4. As per the notice on www.php.net support for PHP4 will continue till 31-Dec-2007 only.

Hence it is strongly suggested that you ask your development team to make your website suitable to run on PHP 5. For documentation on migration from PHP4 to PHP5, please check migration guide available on PHP website (www.php.net).
